The Eightfold Path of Yoga as outlined by Maharishi Patanjali has a concept it calls about cleanliness. Nowadays another word is used which is called detoxification or today talks about cleaning and getting rid of unwanted things. Some mental health tips will help detox the most important part of our body and that is the brain.
Do you know that when there are unnecessary things in your brain you can feel tired or moody and you can not concentrate on your work? Brain detox intention to protect yourself from poor brain function and neurodegenerative diseases.

Natural Methods to Detox Your Brain.
1. Berries
First of all, eat berries you may ask which berries are good for your brain all berries are good berries like blueberry, blackberry, strawberry, and cranberry they are known as super food all over the world. Indian berries like amla, karonda, phalsa, jamun, and Indian ber are superfoods. They all contain antioxidants.
Due to the presence of phenolic compounds such compounds found only in berries cross the blood-brain barrier and reach learning and memory centers in the brain to maintain brain health. Scientists have found that berries have beneficial effects on the brain and may help prevent age-related memory loss.
2. Ayurveda
The second in mental health tips is Ayurveda. Ayurveda promotes ashwagandha for brain health. Ashwa means horse and gandha means fragrance. Ashwagandha is an Ayurvedic herb that smells like an oil. It is available in powder and tablet form. Researchers have found that Ashwagandha promotes healthy functioning of the brain. Ashwagandha extracts may protect the brain. You can consume Ashwagandha powder in warm water. You can take it with milk or you can mix some ghee and honey in it and mix it with water.
3. Chanting
The third in mental health tips is chanting. Memorizing mantra chanting is an ancient practice that calms your mind and soul. Mantras are sound vibrations that have a powerful effect on our body and mind. Scientific studies have found that chanting mantras such as Om 10 times every day can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Chanting the mantra is believed to remove negative energy and restore a positive healthy state in the brain.
4. Asana- Halasana
The fourth in mental health tips is Asana or Hal Asana. In Hal Asana, your body parts are positioned in an unnatural dimension. There are many benefits of this asana and it takes some skill and practice to master it. It has a powerful effect on your spine and makes your mind alert.
Here are the steps.
- Lie on your back with your feet together with your palms facing down.
- As you inhale, use your abdominal muscles to lift your legs off the floor and straighten your legs at a 90-degree angle.
- Now exhale completely and lift yourself up and then keep breathing normally while supporting your buttock and lifting your hips back.
- Let your legs go above your head till your Toes do not touch the floor.
- keep your back perpendicular to the floor, hold this pause for a few seconds or up to a minute, and allow your body to relax with each breath.
- Slowly lower your legs, While a person needs a lot of concentration and flexibility.
performing this pose also reduces stress, improves brain health, and enhances memory.
5. Pranayam – Kapal Bhati
The fifth in mental health tips is pranayama – Kapalbhati. According to traditional yogic practices, Kapal Bhati is one of the cleansing techniques. It is derived from the Sanskrit word kapala meaning skull and bhati meaning shining. This practice of Kriya involves the exhalation of harmful substances and the inhalation is an internal purification process that tones and clears the respiratory system and all our sinuses.
It refreshes the body and rejuvenates the system. It reduces the frequency of sinusitis and migraine attacks. The increase of oxygen stimulates and energizes the brain which helps in increasing concentration.
So here are the steps
- Sit or stand comfortably, keeping your spine straight.
- First, take a long breath in and fill your lungs and now exhale forcefully.
- Do three to five rounds.
Kapalbhati is passed down from generation and the brain has proven to clean.
6. Meditation – Shanmukhi Mudra
The sixth in mental health tips is Shanmukhi Mudra. It is a unique psychophysical technique that is practiced in yoga institutes. It is beneficial for strengthening your nervous system as it provides relief from the constant onslaught of sensory information in your brain. Hence it brings a distracted mind to focus and Provides clarity of thoughts.
So here are the steps:
- Sit in a meditative post, close your eyes, place your thumbs on the ears, and gently place the index fingers on your eyelids, the middle finger on the respective nostril, the ring finger above the lips, and the little finger below them.
- Keep Making sure your elbows are parallel to the ground at shoulder level.
- Now passively observe your breath here. The mind may wander to other thoughts but for best results slowly bring your mind back to the breath.
Some More Mental Health Tips
In addition to these six methods to detox your brain, It is recommended to practice Yoni mudra for 5 to 10 minutes every day.
You must also make some right lifestyle choices for overall well-being improve blood circulation in your body with some asanas, exercise, sleep well, drink plenty of water, learn to meditate, and surrender all your hardships and problems to a high reality. Learn how not to think unnecessarily thinking and action should go parallel.
